Our story

A crooked oak, a big idea, and a plate of grits.

The name came from a casual conversation about a leaning oak on the property, the perfect symbol for a place surrounded by beautiful old trees and a little bit of attitude.

Greg Schwartz opened Lazy Oak in Ocean Springs in September 2022 with a simple goal: bring the fun, ever-evolving New Orleans flair to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, one breakfast classic at a time.

Everything starts from scratch, from the biscuits to the creole cream, and every dish takes a Southern favorite somewhere unexpected.
